An artist embracing Freedom through Reflection
Philippe Gauberti is not just a sculptor; he is a creator of experiences, a master of metal, light, and color.
The artist challenges the viewer to question the complexity and duality of human nature, one’s openness to the world, to others, and to one’s own freedom.
His art finds its place in the intimacy of private spaces as well as in the openness of public spaces with extraordinary installations.

As a sculptor working with metal, particularly polished stainless steel, Philippe Gauberti’s works are a "play of reflections," inviting viewers to question their openness to the world, to others, and to their own freedom.
Born in 1962 on the stunning Côte d'Azur, Gauberti draws inspiration from his vibrant Provençal roots—an essence reflected in the rich colors and bold light of his sculptures. Creative from a young age, his path seemed destined for an artistic career.
However, an event shifted this course. Driven by a love of freedom that would remain central to his life, he chose not to attend the art school that beckoned him, opting instead for the adventure of life that led him into the business world.

In 1999, when his passion for art rekindled, Philippe Gauberti began studying object design. This was followed by four intensive years honing his skills in metal sculpture, mastering techniques like metalworking, polishing, and foundry work.
It was during this transformative period that polished stainless steel emerged as his signature medium—a mirror reflecting not only his artistry but also the question: “Who do I see? Who am I?” The duality of self-awareness became a constant theme in his creations.
Gauberti’s sculptures serve as a reflection of the world around us. He has an unyielding obsession with prompting thought—his work intertwines the themes of shadow and light, confinement and freedom, illusion and reality. The clean aesthetics of his monumental sculptures captivate with their interplay of light and optical illusions, leaving viewers both enchanted and introspective. His passion for creating urban, enduring installations speaks to his desire to engage with the community.
Behind The Scenes

The artist's universe is woven with themes that invite the viewer to engage and become an active participant through personal reflection.

"Envol-Émoi" is a tribute to freedom, a high-relief that dances across walls, breaking free from its frame. Here, Gauberti questions our ability to break free from our own constraints.

"Kubik" celebrates cubic power! A rich and profound symbol, the cube helps us perceive the perfection of the world and opens us to something greater than ourselves.

"Illuptik" or "Beware of Your Certainties!" reinterprets the art of optical illusion, sparking reflection on the digital world of virtual reality.

A highly personal theme, "Impakt" stages the violence and impact of trauma, turning our scars into a work of art.

Revisiting the 19th-century Orientalist theme, Gauberti liberates these beautiful odalisques and renames them.

Klair Obscur. From shadow to light, this work reflects his obsession with duality, a striking reinterpretation of the famous chiaroscuro technique, modulating light against a backdrop of darkness.
